I am Nirupama Rao, and for over thirty years, I have devoted myself to psychology, parenting, child development, and special needs education. My passion? To guide you through the transformative world of homeschooling, enriched by the deep-seated philosophy of anthroposophy.

My journey as the founder and director of Niraamayaa, a Waldorf kindergarten for special needs children in Mumbai, has been more than a profession—it’s a calling. Here, in the realm of challenges and triumphs with children diagnosed with Autism, I have cultivated a deep-seated empathy and understanding for the nuances of homeschooling children with special needs. My aspiration is to empower you to turn these unique challenges into opportunities for nurturing and positive growth.

As a certified Anthroposophic Psychotherapist and Biographic Analyst, I bring a holistic, tailored approach to education and child development, honoring the uniqueness of each child and family.

In my interactive homeschooling sessions, which occur twice a month over a six-month period, we will immerse ourselves in the practical and transformative principles of anthroposophy applied to homeschooling. Guided by my father’s wise counsel to aid those in need, I’ve shaped a career that goes beyond traditional therapy. I employ advanced, holistic methods to unlock the full potential of children with special needs, always mindful of the integral role their families play. This journey is personal for me, as a mother to two neurotypical children, I deeply empathize with the unique experiences of families raising neurodiverse children. My dual insight as a parent and therapist enhances my ability to connect, support, and guide these families, embracing the joys and navigating the complexities together.

My 13 years of experience have been enriched by working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down’s Syndrome, ADHD, and more. I focus on enhancing motor skills, sensory integration, cognitive abilities, social skills, and daily self-care.
